Setup and everyday use

Getting started is straightforward with the Smart Life or Tuya apps. Follow these steps to pair and control your bulb:

1. Power on the bulb while your phone is connected to a 2.4 GHz Wi‑Fi network. Download and install the app by searching for "Smart Life" or "TUYA" (or scan the QR code provided) and create an account if needed.
2. In the app, open Devices and tap the “+” to add a new device. Select Lighting from the device list.
3. Choose EZ mode or AP mode for configuration. EZ mode requires the bulb to flash rapidly (or breathe) and you press the lamp switch the specified number of times to enter pairing. AP mode lets you connect to the device hotspot “SmartLife-XXXX” after the indicator changes.
4. Enter your Wi‑Fi password (make sure you’re on a 2.4 GHz network). Once connected, the bulb will appear in the Devices page and you can start controlling it via the app.
